The Planks Grassroots Tour is back for round deux

After a successful first year, the Planks Clothing Grassroots UK Tour, Photo and Video competition is back for a second season.

It’s no secret that there is a huge talent pool currently emerging from a thriving dry ski slope and snow dome scene around the UK. Ski brand and community Planks want to take the time to nurture, share and celebrate this talent. The Planks Grassroots Video Contest & UK Tour is designed to honour British heritage and show commitment to the future of UK skiing.

So what’s it all about and how can you get involved? The answer is threefold. You can either send it on the small screen or in person…

Do it for the ‘gram

Everyone loves to show off their ski style on insta, and Planks want to see the best images from the UK pool of pudding photographers and riders. Send over your raddest ski related images from the last 12 months to their competitions for the chance to win some shiny new season stash.

Get footy for the boys (and girls)

Planks is inviting UK skiers to enter their best 90-second video edit into their online competition. It’s open to everyone, easy to enter and there are some awesome prizes up for grabs. The winners will be picked by their panel of judges and announced and screened at the awards ceremony during the Telegraph Ski and Snowboard Festival. This year you can also catch après favourites Sunset Sons at the Ski Club of Great Britain stage!

Planks ambassador, X Games medallist and GB Olympian James ‘Woodsy’ Woods says:
“There is so much on offer at the Dry slopes and indoor domes around the UK and we should be encouraging as many people as possible to get involved”.

Planks Founder and Creative Director Jim Adlington started out on the UK dryslopes before embarking on a successful career as a pro skier, so nurturing talent is central to the ethos of the Planks brand and community. The Planks Grassroots Tour is a great opportunity to put yourself out there and show what the UK freestyle scene has to offer, so get involved!
