Snow is falling... here's the update!

All those committees who’ve spent the last week doing non-stop dances for the snow gods, your prayers have been answered! It’s been dumping pretty heavily over the past 7 days, with Val Thorens boasting a mighty snow base of over a metre. For all those old timers who’ve been having nightmares after two years of shoddy coverage, fear not! With these conditions, there’s no risk of damaging those brand new skies you blew your student loan on.

Resort opening wise, we’re up from a tiny two to a mighty three –Val-d'Isère has joined the party, so get ready for more fur gilets than you can shake a ski pole at! The crossing to Tignes is open which means one thing - access to the Folie Douce. Elsewhere, Alpe D’huez starts spinning first lifts this weekend.

All those early season trips including the mighty Varisty have hit the jackpot: for the next week we’re looking at clear skies across the French Alps, which means perfect opportunities to ride some new lines and prove who the best skier on the mountain is. Wrap up warm though, we’re looking at temperatures that’ll freeze the pêche before it even gets to your mouth.

For those taking the bargain bucket option of an Andorra trip, it’s dumping pretty consistently in Pas de la Casa right now, where lifts crank into action this week. See you on the slopes!
